After years of exposure to sunlight and weather, the OEM lower mirror support can become brittle and crack. Unfortunately, there are very few options to restore the original mirror without replacing the entire mirror assembly with a different style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe decided to recreate the OEM lower support using modern 3D printing technology and \u003cstrong\u003ePC-CF (Polycarbonate Carbon Fiber)\u003c\/strong\u003e, one of the strongest materials commonly available for FDM 3D printing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe PC-CF construction provides a rigid and durable replacement support designed to withstand the loads and vibration experienced during high-speed driving.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDirect Bolt-On Design\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lower support is designed to reuse the OEM mounting locations and hardware wherever possible, making installation as close to a direct bolt-on replacement as possible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBodywork \/ Finishing\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBecause this is a 3D-printed component, some surface imperfections and visible layer lines may be present, particularly on the lower portion of the mirror support.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor the best OEM-style finish, additional bodywork will be required.
