The MK1 Motorsport 1JZ/2JZ Freeze Plug Punch is designed to simplify and improve the installation of freeze plugs on Toyota 1JZ and 2JZ engines. This tool features an interchangeable adapter system, allowing it to be used with both 25 mm and 35 mm freeze plugs.

Manufactured using 100% infill ASA filament, this punch is built for maximum durability and long-term reliability. ASA offers excellent impact resistance, heat resistance, and toughness, making it ideal for repeated workshop use. Whether you're using a rubber mallet or a heavy hammer, this tool is designed to withstand demanding installation work without cracking or breaking under normal operating conditions.

Specifications:

The freeze plug punch incorporates an integrated automatic depth stop, allowing the installer to position the freeze plug consistently:

- Flush with the engine block surface, or

- Approximately 1/16" below the surface, aligning with the bottom of the factory bevel edge.

During development, we observed that different JZ engine builders prefer different installation depths. Some install freeze plugs flush with the block surface, while others drive them slightly past the bevel edge for additional retention. To accommodate both installation methods, we designed the punch with a built-in depth-stop feature to ensure repeatable, accurate results every time.

The 25 mm freeze plug, it does not have an automatic depth stop since the surface is quite inconsistent for both plugs on the engine block. Please proceed to punch the 25mm freeze plug with caution.
