MK1 Motorsport Toyota 5VZ-FE Engine Cam Seal Installer

Introducing the FDM 3D printed 5VZ-FE Cam Seal Installer. Designed for the 5VZ enthusiast or mechanic to conduct crank seal service on 5VZ engines. As part of regular engine maintenance, the seals on the 5VZ must be replaced periodically. This seal installer tool is a “must” for people who own or regularly work on 4Runners, Tacomas, or Tundras.

The MK1 Motorsport Seal Installer is designed to make the hassle of crank and cam seal maintenance a little more bearable. The seal installer component allows you to seat the crank and cam seals in a simple, repeatable manner after all the hard work required to get to them in the first place.  

Specifications: 

This component was printed using high-infill, ASA plastic to prevent part degradation and allow for repeated use. ASA has a high glass transition temperature (GTT), making it ideal for various car components. 

All parts are designed and fabricated in the United States. 

Specific vehicles equipped with the 5VZ-FE include:

• Toyota Tacoma: 1995.5 – 2004 (1st Generation)
• Toyota 4Runner: 1996 – 2002 (3rd Generation)
• Toyota Tundra: 2000 – 2004 (1st Generation)
• Toyota T100: 1995 – 1998
• Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (90 Series): 1996 – 2002 (Global markets)

Application:

The seal installer can be used in two ways.

Method 1 (recommended): Lubricate the inner and outer lip of the seals and insert them into the camshaft and crankshaft main. Place the seal installer over the seal and insert the stock cam or crank bolts into the seal installer. Tighten the bolts until the seal installer bottoms out. Do not over-torque the seal installer; a firm snug is all that is needed. 

Method 2:  Lubricate the inner and outer lip of the seals and insert them into the camshaft and crankshaft main. Press the seal in lightly with the seal installer by hand, then use a rubber mallet to lightly tap the seal in until the seal installer bottoms out.
